The Motor Product Specialist will serve as a liaison between the Car Product & Underwriting team and other key operational areas divisions such as Claims & Assessing and Sales & Service.

The role is responsible for ensuring the successful and timely delivery of cross-functional initiatives and projects by facilitating effective communication, collaboration, and providing hands-on support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Facilitating engagement and change management with other divisions for the planning, design and implementation of Car Product & Underwriting initiated initiatives and projects;
  • Building out a pipeline of work and providing subject matter expertise or, when appropriate, engaging with the appropriate Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) within the broader team to support other divisions' initiatives and projects requiring Car Product & Underwriting input, review and approval.
Requirements
  • 5+ years experience in General Insurance Product and/or Underwriting functions, with a strong understanding of the end-to-end retail insurance value chain;
  • Highly engaging, collaborative and consultative approach with a sound comprehensive understanding of the more technical general insurance principles including, but not limited to, product, underwriting, pricing, claims and assessing;
  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across different divisions;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with people at all levels of the organisation;
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify opportunities for improvement and develop solutions;
  • Advanced stakeholder management skills, including conflict resolution and negotiation;
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, with a strong work ethic and a commitment to delivering results;
  • Tertiary qualifications in finance, risk, commerce, law or related discipline would be highly regarded.
