Role Responsibilities

This unique position combines the responsibilities of a Care Worker with those of a Maintenance Officer, particularly during staff absences. The focus will be on providing care within our aged care facilities while also stepping in for maintenance tasks as required.

You will have the chance to enhance your skill set across various disciplines, primarily centered on care. Our commitment to professional development ensures you receive thorough training in both maintenance and caregiving responsibilities.

Your role will involve delivering care, companionship, and emotional support to residents in our aged care home, aimed at fostering their independence and enhancing their quality of life through:

  1. Assisting with daily living activities such as personal hygiene, dressing, meal support, and mobility assistance.
  2. Helping with medication management and basic wound care.
  3. Encouraging residents to participate in community-based recreational and social activities.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will possess a Certificate III/IV in Aged Care or Individual Support, or an equivalent qualification. If you are not yet qualified but aspire to be, we can assist you in achieving your goals.

Experience in aged or community care is preferred, though a passion for starting a career in aged care is also valued, especially for those currently studying or newly qualified. We seek individuals who are adaptable, empathetic, and resourceful, embodying Uniting's core values of compassion, respect, imagination, and boldness.
