Job Description

This role is responsible for providing expert advice and guidance on workplace relations matters, including employment law, industrial relations, and employee engagement. The successful candidate will have extensive experience in conceptualising, developing, and implementing contemporary workplace relations solutions and strategies.

The Associate Director, Workplace Relations will lead a team of dedicated professionals, empowering them to deliver exceptional advice and services while building collaborative relationships with stakeholders across the university.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and motivate a high-performing team to deliver strategic workplace initiatives.
  • Develop and implement workplace relations strategies that align with Deakin's goals, fostering a culture of inclusivity, respect, and well-being.
  • Ensure adherence to employment laws by partnering with stakeholders to develop policies that reflect legal standards and best practices in employee management.
  • Drive positive outcomes in resolving industrial disputes, grievances, and complaints, ensuring fairness and compliance with university policies.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A postgraduate degree in a relevant discipline or an equivalent combination of qualifications and extensive experience.
  • Extensive experience conceptualising, developing, and implementing contemporary workplace relations solutions, strategies, and services to achieve a large organisation's objectives.
  • A sound knowledge and understanding of contemporary workplace relations practices.
  • Demonstrated capacity to build and maintain strong and productive relationships with internal and external partners and customers.
Salary and Benefits

The estimated salary range for this role is $120,000 - $150,000 per annum, depending on experience. As a valued member of our team, you will also receive a comprehensive benefits package, including access to professional development opportunities and a supportive work environment.
