The Role

We seek a proactive and experienced consultant or senior consultant to join our Sydney Heritage team. The successful candidate will contribute to high-profile projects, reports, and advice for clients.

The role will be supported by a national team of directors and market-leading heritage experts who have collaborated on notable projects such as the Lands and Education Buildings Bridge Street, Chief Secretary's Building, and Sydney Opera House.

About You

To be successful in this position, you will have 2-5 years' experience in a similar role or industry-related discipline. Key skills include:

  • Ability to undertake heritage research using multiple sources and methodologies, presenting preliminary findings relevant to the project.
  • Demonstrated understanding of architectural styles, basic fabric identification, and analysis.
  • Experience writing Heritage Impact Statements, Heritage Assessments, and Conservation Management Plans.
  • Detailed understanding of Heritage design principles and their application.
  • Demonstrated understanding of statutory heritage and planning legislation, particularly the Heritage Act 1977.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Lateral approach to problem-solving, contributing to stakeholder negotiations.
  • Effective time management, working autonomously on multiple projects under senior staff direction.
