Support Practitioner Role

This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and their families.

ECS provides therapy & support under the Key Worker model where there is one lead practitioner that supports the child and family through applying a range of strategies across all areas of development.

You will liaise with and co-ordinate therapy from multiple disciplines as needed throughout the process.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work with families and children to develop and prioritise their goals using a routines-based approach
  • Provide support to families that reflects a strengths-based and family-centred approach, focusing on improving the child and family quality of life
  • Provide evidence-based support to address children's goals across all areas of development, including communication, play, mobility, feeding, self-care activities, sensory processing, relationships with peers, feelings and behaviours, problem-solving and learning
  • Develop the capacity of the adults supporting the child
  • Coordinate support required from other disciplines
  • SUPPORT THE INCLUSION AND PARTICIPATION OF CHILDREN WITHIN THEIR FAMILIES AND COMMUNITIES
  • Provide consultative support to other Key Workers specific to your discipline/ background
About this Role:

This role allows you to supplement your work with a clinical position as a Positive Behaviour Support Practitioner. As a Positive Behaviour Support Practitioner, you will work with allied health practitioners, support workers and family members to achieve the best possible outcomes for your clients.

Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) plans and assessments focus on increasing a person's quality of life, improving their skills and enhancing their independence.

You will receive extensive training and support from Team Leaders and Managers to effectively perform in this dual role.
