Job Title: Trauma-Informed Care Specialist
">- Conduct comprehensive assessments of children and young people in out-of-home care, considering their health and development, emotions and behaviour, education and learning, family and social relationships, self-care skills, culture and identity.
- Develop and implement Positive Behaviour Support Plans, ensuring a thorough understanding of behaviour support guidelines, restrictive practices, and intervention.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide specialist therapeutic consultations to foster carers, Operational staff, and external stakeholders on developmental trauma, challenging behaviour, and strategies for creating a trauma-informed care environment.
- Promote a trauma-informed organisation through resource development and training programs for carers, colleagues, and external stakeholders.
Eligibility/Requirements:
- Essential qualifications and experience:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications (e.g., Social Work, Psychology, Social Welfare or related discipline).
- At least five years' experience in human services fields.
- Current Driver's Licence.
- Desirable qualifications and experience:
- High level of experience with Positive Behaviour Support Plans and functional behaviour assessments.
- Proven experience working with individuals with significant trauma and adversity histories, disability, and/or mental illness.
