About the Role

The Area Sales Manager (ASM) role is a great opportunity for candidates who would like to further advance their careers in Field Sales and management. As a key member of our sales team, you will be responsible for leading a team of Territory Managers and merchandisers to deliver all in-store activities and the delivery of all Field Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Targets.

Main Responsibilities

Sales and Business Development

  • Builds and maintains relationships with Key Customers (store and Area/Regional Managers) to maximise sales opportunities each session.
  • Meet Key customer contacts to Upsell major activities and negotiate additional display activity.

In-Store Execution

  • Ensure Quality, Freshness and Standards of in-store execution are met according to the Field Action Standards set under the My Perfect Store Guidelines.
  • Develop plan to achieve all display and Execution Quality targets as outlined in the Activity Execution Guide.
  • Ensure the Availability of all Point of Sale (POS) Material for activations in-store, including the ordering of all POS to Local Sheds in a timely manner.

People Management

  • Coordinates, coaches and mentors all Direct Reports, comprising of Territory Managers and merchandisers.
  • Participate in the recruitment of Territory Managers, Regional Merchandisers and seasonal helpers as required.
  • Ensure Performance of all Territory Managers is in accordance with Ferrero Standards and core values and fulfils the requirements of their roles.
  • Implement approved Performance Management Plans as required.
  • Support the development and ongoing review of Individual Development Plans for all team members.
  • Comply to the year-end Performance Evaluation process for all Full-Time team members.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years' experience within territory or sales management within Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG).
  • Experience working in the grocery channel is essential.
  • Confident communicator with the ability to influence and build relationships.
  • Strong time management and organisational skills.
  • Resilient, driven and determined to succeed.
  • Experience in Managing and Developing People is highly regarded.
  • Tertiary qualification preferable within business-related field.
