Unlock the Power of Volunteerism at Northern Beaches Hospital

We are seeking enthusiastic and passionate volunteers to join our hospital team, making a significant contribution to the hospital and the Northern Beaches community.

As a volunteer, you will have the opportunity to work in various roles, including Hospital Helpers, supporting patients throughout their stay in the hospital. This role helps to improve the patient experience and is one of the most rewarding for volunteers and for patients and staff.

The tasks include assisting patients with refreshments, social activities, helping patients with belongings, general assistance around the ward, and other support duties. Roles are available throughout the hospital, including women and children, aged care, medical and surgical wards, day surgery, and recovery.

You may also be interested in becoming a Hospital Greeter, providing valuable assistance to patients arriving for admission to hospital. Based in Bookings and Admissions, Greeters escort patients to our Day of Admissions Centre and assist with patient belongings.

For those who want to make a real difference, we are looking for Consumer Consultants to help Northern Beaches Hospital be responsive to patient, carer, and consumer input and needs. As an advisor to the hospital, you will make a real difference to future service provision at NBH.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to sit on committees, advise on consumer publications, or help develop future programs. Consumer Consultants should have experience of hospital services as a consumer or carer or have a chronic condition requiring frequent admissions.

To be successful, you will need to be a bubbly and enthusiastic person who can make a difference with our patients. You should be a great communicator who enjoys helping people and have the ability to work both independently and within a team. A genuine caring and empathetic outlook for patients and visitors is essential.

We offer a competitive salary range of $25-$30 per hour, depending on your experience and qualifications. In addition, you will receive training and support to help you succeed in your role.

This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience and skills while making a positive impact on the lives of our patients and their families.
