Job Description:

This is an exciting opportunity to work as an Aviation Ground Theory Instructor within our team. The role involves delivering Pilot Ground Theory Instruction to students, ensuring they meet the requirements of the Civil Aviation Safety Regulations (CASRs) or Defence Aviation Safety Authority regulatory requirements for Aircrew operations.

The successful candidate will have extensive experience in delivering Ground Theory Instruction, with a strong understanding of aviation and flight training industry principles. They will also possess effective interpersonal and communication skills, relevant to teaching and consultancy environments.

In this role, you will be responsible for working within the RMIT Aviation Academy, delivering course material, assessing students, and supervising students enrolled in theory courses. You will also contribute to the development and delivery of teaching methods and assessment strategies.

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following qualifications and skills:

  • A minimum Commercial Pilot Licence (Multi Engine Command Instrument Rating and ATPL CASA exam credits)">
  • A minimum 500hrs flying experience">
  • AQF6 (Advanced Diploma or Associate Degree) or above Tertiary Qualification">
  • Skills and experience in competency-based assessment">
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills">
  • Ability to diagnose learning problems in students and propose effective solutions">
