This is an opportunity for a seasoned legal professional to join a forward-thinking fintech company that delivers innovative consumer finance and payments solutions.
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts related to commercial and technology agreements, including service contracts, partnerships, and licensing arrangements.
- Provide expert guidance on regulatory compliance, encompassing consumer credit, payments, data privacy, AML/CTF, IP, and competition laws.
- Support product development and go-to-market initiatives by ensuring regulatory adherence from inception through launch.
- Advise on governance policies, compliance programs, and internal procedures to meet relevant regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with external counsel and regulatory bodies on complex or high-value matters.
- Deliver training and guidance to business teams on legal and regulatory matters.
The ideal candidate will have 3-6 years of post-qualification experience in-house or in private practice, with demonstrated expertise in fintech, payments, or consumer finance. They will possess a strong understanding of Australian financial services law and regulation, including consumer credit, data privacy, and AML/CTF frameworks.
The role demands excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, as well as the ability to balance legal risk with strategic and operational priorities.
