
Strategic Commercial Leader

The Commercial Director is responsible for setting the strategic direction and priorities for their team, aligning with the expectations of senior executives and government. They will lead a highly skilled team in delivering policy development and implementing commercial and asset reform initiatives.
To achieve successful outcomes, the Commercial Director must build strong relationships with stakeholders across and beyond government. This includes providing authoritative advice to senior leaders and government, drawing on policy expertise and commercial acumen.
Key responsibilities include:
- Fostering a supportive and results-driven environment to guide the team from concept through to delivery;
- Leveraging commercial processes to develop and implement solutions that deliver real impact for the Department and the community;
A strong understanding of government service delivery objectives and priorities is essential for this role. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience at a senior level in government, as well as post-graduate qualifications in public policy, public administration, commerce or law.
In addition, they will need to demonstrate exceptional analytic abilities, including experience in managing competing priorities under tight deadlines. Strong negotiation, influencing and communication skills are also required, along with a proven ability to engage strategically with senior stakeholders both inside and outside of government.

Key Skills and Qualifications:
