Expert Clinical Leadership for Stomal Therapy and Continence

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Nurse Consultant to provide expert clinical leadership and consultation in the assessment, management, and education of patients with ostomies, continence issues, and trial of void strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert clinical leadership and consultation in the assessment, management, and education of patients with ostomies, continence issues, and trial of void strategies.
  • Lead the operational and nursing management of Stomal therapy and Continence referrals.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate comprehensive patient care.
  • Educate and train healthcare professionals and patients on best practices in ostomy care, continence management, and skin integrity.
  • Employ high levels of clinical knowledge and judgement to ensure superior delivery of holistic care to inpatients.
  • Manage the nurse-led Stomal Therapy Outpatient Clinic and Trial of Void Clinic.
  • Participate in clinical audits, quality improvement, and research projects related to Trial of Void protocols and continence and ostomy care.

Requirements:

  • Registered as a Registered Nurse (Division 1) with the Australian Health Professionals Regulation Agency.
  • At least 5 years full-time equivalent post-registration experience.
  • Approved post-registration nursing qualifications relevant to Stomal Therapy/Continence Nursing or such other qualifications deemed appropriate by the hospital.
