Expert Ostomy and Continence Care Professional

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Nurse Consultant to provide expert clinical leadership and consultation in the assessment, management, and education of patients with ostomies, continence issues, and trial of void strategies.
About the RoleThe successful candidate will be responsible for leading the operational and nursing management of Stomal therapy and Continence referrals, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate comprehensive patient care, and educating and training healthcare professionals and patients on best practices in ostomy care, continence management, and skin integrity.
- Provide clinical leadership and consultation in the assessment, management, and education of patients with ostomies, continence issues, and trial of void strategies.
- Lead the operational and nursing management of Stomal therapy and Continence referrals.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate comprehensive patient care.
- Educate and train healthcare professionals and patients on best practices in ostomy care, continence management, and skin integrity.
To be successful in this role, you will require:
- Current registration as a Registered Nurse (Division 1) with the Australian Health Professionals Regulation Agency.
- At least 5 years full-time equivalent post-registration experience, including approved post-registration nursing qualifications relevant to Stomal Therapy/Continence Nursing or such other qualifications or experience deemed appropriate by regulatory authorities.
- Demonstrated leadership ability working in a multidisciplinary healthcare team with a comprehensive understanding of clinical governance and current nursing issues.
- Demonstrated evidence of integration of theoretical knowledge and clinical skills, critical thinking, and analysis in daily practice in your current role.
- Demonstrated effective time management skills and ability to prioritize competing workloads within a complex environment.
