We are seeking a skilled technician to join our technical team in support of hands-on teaching and research across the fields of Engineering.

The successful applicant will provide high-level technical support for teaching and research activities, operate and maintain specialist equipment and instrumentation in labs and workshops, ensuring safety and compliance. They will also contribute to the development of practical training environments and supervise technical staff to deliver efficient operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support for teaching and research activities in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Environmental and Mining Engineering
  • Operate and maintain specialist equipment and instrumentation in labs and workshops, ensuring safety and compliance
  • Contribute to the development of practical training environments
  • Supervise technical staff to deliver efficient operations

To be successful in this role, you will have a relevant tertiary or technical qualification, substantial relevant technical experience at an appropriate level, highly developed written and verbal communication skills, and proficiency in a range of computing skills including word processing, spreadsheets, databases, email on online/internet-based systems. You will also need to hold a current C-class driver's licence and have the ability to hold high-risk licences.
