Job Overview

The role of a Financial Analyst involves delivering transactional accounting and reporting services. This is a 12-month contract located in the heart of Adelaide.

Key Responsibilities
  • To be part of a centralised financial services team that provides joint venture accounting services to all finance operations.
  • Demonstrate a change and performance mindset and participate to achieve desired cultural outcomes.
  • Contribute to delivering on cost reduction efficiencies and value creation strategies as directed.
  • Collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders as required.
  • Prepare monthly joint venture expenditure statements and cash call requests.
  • Prepare and post actual and accrual journals.
  • Input operated and non-operated joint venture accounting and provide reports.
  • Efficient generation and input of sales invoices.
  • Calculate, lodge, and pay monthly and quarterly overriding royalties (ORR), product royalties, and primary resource rent tax (PRRT).
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Prepare audit data as required.
  • Participate in process improvement projects across finance.
  • Perform additional activities as required by the financial controller.
  • Comply with corporate governance and safety requirements.
Requirements
  • Bachelor level qualification in accounting, commerce, or an equivalent field.
  • Qualified accountant (ICAA, CPA, or equivalent).
  • Previous professional working experience.
  • SAP finance system knowledge.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Advanced MS Excel skills.
  • Experience building and managing internal relationships and collaboration to meet goals.
  • Excellent communication skills with experience working cross-functionally and managing stakeholder needs.
