Job Description

The Financial Accountant plays a crucial role in the finance team by providing essential support and services.

This position assists the Senior Financial Accountant with various responsibilities, including:

  • Preparation and analysis of monthly management accounts, statutory accounts, and year-end audits.
  • Oversight of balance sheet reconciliations, period-end accruals, transaction reviews, financial reporting, and analysis.
  • Support to the Finance team across all areas of finance, including bank reconciliations and fixed asset processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform monthly finance procedures and processes, including preparation and review of Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow statements.
  • Perform balance sheet reconciliations and review monthly accruals and standard journals.
  • Assist with compliance requirements, including statutory accounts, BAS, and tax returns.
  • Support the year-end process and annual audit.
  • Assist in the preparation of annual budgets.
  • Prepare financial reports and conduct analysis to provide actionable insights.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of proven experience in Accounting roles, demonstrating a strong understanding of financial principles and reporting.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience with Accounting software.
  • Knowledge of financial statement preparation, including P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow statements.
  • Demonstrates self-motivation and maintains high productivity levels, consistently delivering quality work even under tight deadlines.
  • Experience in retail or distribution environments.
  • CPA or CA qualification.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Accounting.
