Laing O'Rourke is seeking a skilled Rail Infrastructure Welding Specialist to join our team in the Hunter Valley NSW.

As a Rail Infrastructure Welding Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient repair and maintenance of rail tracks. This role offers great career prospects with a privately-owned tier 1 constructor and international engineering enterprise.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Ensuring welding duties meet required standards;
  • Determining the method and sequence of welding operations;
  • Preparing rail to repair and maintain rail tracks;
  • Completing required documentation such as welding and adjustment returns.

About You

  • You hold an ARTC Heat & cut materials using Oxy-LPG equipment for the rail industry certification;
  • You have a current Thermit Welding Certificate or equivalent;
  • You are qualified to weld rail using the aluminothermic welding process;
  • You hold a Certificate II in Rail Infrastructure;
  • You possess a valid Construction Induction (White Card) & Rail Industry Worker (RIW) Card;
  • You hold a valid Drivers Licence Class C or HR;
  • You can pass a CAT3 medical, comprehensive functional and Drug & Alcohol Screening;
  • You may also hold a current Sydney Trains CON number (desirable).
