About the Role

We are seeking highly skilled Rail Welders for our Rail Operations team in the Hunter Valley, NSW.

As a Rail Welder with Laing O'Rourke, you will be responsible for ensuring welding duties meet required standards, determining the method and sequence of welding operations, preparing rail to repair and maintain rail tracks, and completing required documentation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensuring welding duties meets required standards
  • Determining the method and sequence of welding operations
  • Preparing rail to repair and maintain rail tracks
  • Complete required documentation such as welding and adjustment returns
About You
  • You hold an ARTC Heat & cut materials using Oxy - LPG equipment for the rail industry certification.
  • You have a Current Thermit Welding Certificate or equivalent.
  • You can weld rail using aluminothermic welding process.
  • You hold a Certificate 2 in Rail Infrastructure.
  • You have a valid Construction Induction (White Card) & Rail Industry Worker (RIW) Card.
  • You hold a valid Drivers Licence Class 'C' or 'HR'.
  • You can pass a CAT3 medical, comprehensive functional and Drug & Alcohol Screening.
  • You may hold a current Sydney Trains CON number (desirable).
