Aboriginal Education Officer

The role of an Aboriginal Education Officer involves assisting teachers, Aboriginal students, and their families to support improved learning, welfare, and well-being outcomes for Aboriginal students.
About the RoleThis Aboriginal Education Officer position is located in the preschool and requires a strong understanding of the needs of Aboriginal students. The successful candidate will possess effective oral and written communication skills, knowledge of Aboriginal communities and cultures, and the ability to interact with Aboriginal students and parents.
Key Responsibilities- Assist teachers in providing support to Aboriginal students and their families
- Develop and implement strategies to improve learning outcomes for Aboriginal students
- Maintain relationships with local Aboriginal communities and organisations
- Working with Children Check Clearance
- First Aid Certificate or willingness to undertake First Aid training
- Administration of Medications – training to be provided based on student needs
- Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal Education and Training policies
The salary range for this position is $39.90 - $43.41 per hour, with a total remuneration package including employer's contribution to superannuation and leave loading.
