Role Overview

We are seeking an Aboriginal Community Liaison Officer to join our team in Redfern. This role is responsible for providing advice and support to commands in the management of local Aboriginal issues.

Key Responsibilities

  • ">
  • Establish and maintain close personal relationships with Elders, Leaders, and members of the Aboriginal community.">
  • Develop network contacts to strengthen cooperation and communication between the police and the community.">
  • Assist community members in dealing with local policing issues and contact with other statutory bodies.">

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

">
  • ">
  • A current driver's licence with no traffic offences recorded on your driving history within the last six months.">
  • Nationwide recognition as an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person under the Commonwealth Electoral Act 1918.">
  • Basic computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office software.">
  • The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.">
  • A Working With Children Check (WWCC) clearance.">
