Aboriginal Health Cultural Advocate

We are seeking an experienced Aboriginal Mental Health Cultural Worker to join our team at the Flinders and Upper North Local Health Network.
The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the delivery of comprehensive, recovery-focused, and evidence-based mental health services across the network.
With a focus on culturally relevant care, you will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to ensure that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander consumers receive accessible and equitable care in community, acute, and rehabilitation settings.

Key Responsibilities:
- To provide culturally relevant mental health care to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander consumers
- To work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive mental health services
- To foster strong relationships with local health services, community groups, and ATSI organizations
- To bridge cultural understanding and tailor mental health care to the unique needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities
Requirements:
- Experience in working with and providing advocacy and support services to ATSI people and communities
- Experience working within a community engagement or development capacity
- Experience in reporting to and liaising with multiple stakeholders across the spectrum of community services or health
- Experience in working with people who have health and/or mental health related issues
- Experience in working within a community services team environment and successful participation in such a setting
- Experience in Microsoft Office software packages including word processing, desktop publishing, Excel and Outlook
- Experience working with Aboriginal consumers
About the Role:
This is a part-time position (0.7 FTE) with a base salary range of $67,589 - $72,033 p.a (pro-rata). In addition to base salary, this position attracts Superannuation, Leave Loading, Locality Allowance and Salary Sacrificing Benefits (salary packaging).
