About the Role

As a Risk Management Analyst, you will be part of a market-leading team responsible for delivering peril pricing and reinsurance costs to IAG business units across Australia and New Zealand.

You will build close relationships with diverse professionals and contribute to analytical insights that help shape the Group's risk management strategies.

About You

  • You have a tertiary qualification in actuarial sciences, statistics, applied mathematics, engineering, econometrics or related disciplines.
  • You'll have a good understanding of data modelling techniques, statistical methods, tools/languages such as R, SAS, SQL, ArcGIS.
  • Hands-on data management and analytics experience is preferable, ideally gained from general insurance or financial services sector.
  • You can work autonomously in a solution-oriented and delivery-focused manner.
  • Experience working within a multi-disciplinary fast-paced team.
  • Existing knowledge of some of the following will be looked upon favourably:
  • Global Cat modelling software such as AIR, RMS, Imagery analytics/computer vision.

Your Responsibilities

  • You will develop, implement, and maintain analytical tools to provide insights on natural perils risk, pricing, profitability, and affordability.
  • You will build analytical application designs and prototyping to test ideas and drive innovation on perils risk and climate risk solutions.
  • You'll conduct exploratory data analysis, methodological research, and experiments to contribute to innovative analytics solutions.
  • You will maintain natural perils cost allocations and pricing processes, managing internal stakeholders across the business.
  • Provide analytical support to the Pricing & Engineering team on perils including earthquake, flood, bushfire, cyclone, storm, and hail.
  • You'll assist in the delivery of peril risk models for both reinsurance and risk-based pricing applications.

Salary Range: $80,000 - $110,000 per annum
