Job Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Mining Superintendent to lead our Outbye operations.

The selected candidate will be accountable for all aspects of mine services, roadways, conveyors, secondary support, and general infrastructure maintenance.

To achieve this, the successful applicant must ensure that all operations are conducted in strict adherence with relevant laws, regulations, and company requirements.

In addition, they will be responsible for coordinating and collaborating with other departments, such as production, engineering, and safety teams, to achieve organizational goals.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a similar position within an underground mining operation and possess strong interpersonal and negotiation skills.

A high level of strategic thinking, planning, and problem-solving ability is also essential.

The role requires a demonstrated commitment to safety, with previous experience in identifying risks and implementing safe working practices.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Accountable for all aspects of Outbye operations, including mine services, roadways, conveyors, secondary support, and general infrastructure maintenance.
  • Ensure all operations are conducted in strict adherence with Qld Coal Mining Safety & Health Act, Regulations, other legal and corporate requirements.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with other departments, such as production, engineering, and safety teams, to achieve organizational goals.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues, minimizing downtime and ensuring continuity in coal production.
  • Lead, mentor, and support team members, fostering a culture of safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience in a similar position within an underground mining operation.
  • Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills to influence and achieve buy-in from key stakeholders.
  • A high level of strategic thinking, planning, and problem-solving ability.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety with previous experience in identifying risks and implementing safe working practices.
