Underground mining is a vital component of our production activities across Longwall, Outbye and Development crews.

Job Responsibilities and Expectations

This role involves operating and maintaining underground equipment to meet production targets in accordance with mine standards.

The key responsibilities include:

  • Utilizing expertise and skillset to work across various functions as required.
  • Proactively identifying risks and hazards to ensure the safety of team members.
  • Supporting improvement initiatives and suggesting innovative ideas for enhancements.
  • Encouraging and modeling good housekeeping and equipment care practices.
Required Skills and Qualifications

The successful applicants will have and be able to demonstrate:

  • Experience and qualifications in operating underground machinery.
  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in the same or similar position.
  • Strong experience working in an underground coal mining environment with a detailed knowledge of development, longwall and support services.
  • Ability and willingness to work collaboratively as part of a team in an underground mining environment.
  • Excellent hazard identification skills and a proactive approach to participation.
