Coal Production Manager Job Summary

The Coal Production Manager oversees Outbye operations, including mine services, roadways, conveyors, secondary support, and general infrastructure maintenance. Ensuring compliance with Qld Coal Mining Safety & Health Act, Regulations, and other legal requirements is a top priority.

This role requires strong leadership and collaboration skills to achieve organizational goals. The successful candidate will troubleshoot operational issues, minimize downtime, and ensure continuity in coal production.

A key aspect of this position is fostering a culture of safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement. The incumbent will lead, mentor, and support team members, as well as prepare reports on performance metrics, safety incidents, and other relevant data for senior management.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Accountable for all Outbye operations
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and laws
  • Troubleshoot operational issues and minimize downtime
  • Foster a culture of safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Previous experience in a similar position within an underground mining operation
  • Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills
  • A high level of strategic thinking, planning, and problem-solving ability
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety with previous experience in identifying risks and implementing safe working practices

This is a full-time permanent position based at Aquila Mine, Middlemount QLD.
