Community Engagement and Development Role

This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the enhancement of community wellbeing and promotion of sustainable tenancies in multiple districts across New South Wales.

As a key member of our team, you will support tenant engagement and community development initiatives. Your primary responsibility will be to coordinate the development and delivery of programs that promote community capacity building and neighbourhood activities.

  • Coordinate and assist in the development of community-based projects and activities to facilitate increased participation of residents in community capacity building and neighbourhood activities.
  • Manage key relationships and partnerships to strengthen communication, improve service access, and promote sustainable tenancies across Homes NSW communities.
  • Contribute to tenant and community involvement and empowerment planning to improve Homes NSW performance in selected housing management activities.
  • Organise and contribute to community meetings and workshops.
  • Network with external stakeholders including Council, Education, Police & Indigenous agencies, residents and resident groups.
  • Develop and implement a range of tenant feedback systems, ongoing consultative/advisory arrangements and mechanisms with individual social housing residents, families, organisations (government and non-government) and the local community.
Key Requirements
  • Relevant qualifications as well as 2-3 years' experience in tenant participation, community development, or community services.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines with competing priorities.
  • Ability to work in adherence to legislation and governing compliance requirements.
  • Familiarity with working with people of diverse backgrounds and life experiences.
  • An empathetic and results-driven nature.
