About The Role

The Casual Game Development Officer plays a crucial role in executing AFL participation initiatives. This position focuses on driving engagement in programs such as NAB AFL Auskick, Superkick, and various school activities, facilitating a smooth transition for participants into local club settings, and ensuring an inclusive, respectful, and safe atmosphere.

This role primarily involves fieldwork in schools and local Auskick centers and clubs.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Implementing AFL participation initiatives, including Auskick, Superkick, NINES, and school programs.
  2. Supporting regional action plans to maximize program delivery and participation impact.
  3. Documenting essential data and observations for local management review.
  4. Promoting AFL Auskick/Superkick and junior/senior club football events as needed.
  5. Assisting in the execution of programs and events focused on inclusion, multiculturalism, and indigenous participation.
  6. Providing support for AFL match day operations during AFL Games.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  1. Experience working with children and youth, with a Valid Working with Children Check and a satisfactory criminal history record check required.
  2. Proven ability to take initiative and work effectively without supervision.
  3. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, along with excellent interpersonal and negotiation abilities.
  4. Relevant qualifications in Sports Coaching/Management, Recreation, Education, or equivalent experience.
  5. A genuine passion for Australian Football.
  6. Possession of a Tasmanian Driver's License.
