About The Role

The Casual Game Development Officer plays a crucial role in executing AFL participation initiatives. This position focuses on fostering participation in programs such as NAB AFL Auskick, Superkick, and school-based activities, while facilitating the transition of participants into local club settings. The role emphasizes the importance of creating inclusive, respectful, and safe environments for all participants.

This position primarily involves fieldwork in schools and local Auskick centers and clubs.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Implementing AFL participation initiatives, including Auskick, Superkick, NINES, and school programs.
  2. Supporting regional action plans to ensure effective program delivery for optimal participation outcomes.
  3. Documenting essential data and observations for local management review.
  4. Promoting AFL Auskick/Superkick and junior/senior club football events as needed.
  5. Assisting in the execution of programs aimed at inclusivity, multicultural engagement, and support for indigenous communities.
  6. Contributing to AFL match day operations during AFL events.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  1. Experience working with children and youth, with a requirement for a Valid Working with Children Check and a satisfactory criminal history record check.
  2. Proven ability to take initiative and work effectively without supervision.
  3. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, along with excellent interpersonal and negotiation abilities.
  4. Relevant qualifications in Sports Coaching/Management, Recreation, Education, or equivalent experience.
  5. A genuine passion for Australian Football.
  6. Possession of a Tasmanian Driver's License.
