Principal Consulting Engineer

About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to join our technical consulting team at Duratec, a rapidly growing ASX-listed company. We are looking for a Principal Structural or Materials Engineer with 10-15 years' experience consulting in the assessment, protection, repair, and service life extension of infrastructure and buildings.
The successful candidate will work with new technology and use their innovative thinking to deliver solutions and contribute to the overall success of the business. This role will involve technical review, supervision, guidance, and mentoring of staff, as well as contributing to the growth of the team.
Key Responsibilities
- Civil infrastructure and building condition assessments
- Author and review technical reports
- Lead the preparation of repair designs and specifications
- Site inspection, testing, and analysis
- Materials durability assessments and planning
- Asset maintenance strategies
- Supporting our remediation contracting division
- Working with our Spatial division to deliver 3D reality asset models for digital delivery of condition assessments and defect management
- Prototype and trial innovative technology solutions to help deliver value to our company and clients
- Help to lead the digitisation of the business workflow by adopting and utilising new software
- Project Management of technical projects
- Proposal writing and business development
- Client relationship management
About You
You have relevant experience in a similar role with specific experience in the inspection and assessment of concrete/steel structures. You have experience with business development and can build positive relationships with clients and understand their needs and expectations. You are proactive and can assess situations to identify potential issues and suggest solutions.
Minimum Qualifications
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Civil/Structural or Materials Engineering, or related field;
- Relevant experience of 10-15 years enabling you to have developed a range of knowledge and skills;
- Experience in technical supervision and mentoring of staff.
