Job Title: Principal Mechanical Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Principal Mechanical Engineer to join our Buildings and Places business line in Melbourne.

This role will suit someone with excellent technical and design skills, with the ability to deliver projects across a range of market sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize your extensive design and project management expertise to ensure high-quality, cost-effective project delivery across key sectors such as healthcare, defence, transport, and other major building projects throughout Australia and New Zealand.
  • Collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team, applying your technical leadership to review and optimize design calculations, specifications, and drawings, ensuring the highest standards of quality.
  • Lead mechanical design efforts and oversee project delivery for major clients, conducting technical reviews, and providing mentorship and guidance to junior engineers across the business.
  • Foster strong client relationships by engaging directly with stakeholders, offering innovative solutions, and ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Ideally, 11 + years' experience working for a Building Services consultancy or, possess significant design experience working for a Mechanical contractor.
  • Track record of project management and leading mechanical components of building services major projects within Australia.
  • Proven record in technical design and project delivery across a range of building services projects.
  • An in-depth understanding of Building Services projects and standards, with outstanding communication skills to impart your technical experience to junior engineers and clients as required.
  • RPEV and CPEng
