Job Title: Principal Water Resources Engineer
Job Summary:
KBR Inc. is seeking a highly experienced Principal Water Resources Engineer to join our team in Melbourne. As a key member of our Water Resources team, you will be responsible for delivering technical outcomes in floodplain and stormwater management.
About the Role:
We are looking for a Water Resources Principal Engineer with proven experience driving technical outcomes in floodplain and stormwater management. You will have the opportunity to deliver a variety of water resource projects delivering innovative solutions to local & state government and private sector clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- 15 years' plus recent local experience on projects within the Melbourne Water or Catchment Management Authority flood modelling and mapping sector and/or infrastructure design.
- Knowledge of relevant Melbourne Water technical specifications including up-to-date best practice in flood modelling.
- Knowledge and understanding of federal, state and local legislation, regulatory frameworks, guidelines and policies, and experience applying it to achieve practical outcomes in the field of water resources in Australia.
- Experience in numerical modelling (hydrology, hydraulics and groundwater), including TUFLOW, RORB, URBS, HEC-RAS, MUSIC, GOLDSIM and solid experience with GIS applications (QGIS, ArcGIS, MapInfo).
- Ability to provide technical guidance to junior engineers.
- Chartered professional engineer (CPEng) or ability to achieve this status in 6 months of starting.
- Registered Professional Engineer.
- Hold an accredited bachelor's degree in engineering or related field.
