Telecommunications System Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Telecommunications Rigger to work on the installation, maintenance and repair of telecommunication systems. As a Telecommunications Rigger, you will be responsible for various tasks including identifying and reporting faults, installing and repairing telecommunication systems, climbing poles and rooftops for rigging works, arranging network technology with computer software, hardware and databases, and installing and commissioning microwave systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and report faults to project managers and engineers.
  • Install, maintain and repair telecommunication systems, including microwave, radio, in-built coverage networks, telemetry, multiplexing, satellite, wireless and other communication systems.
  • Climb poles, rooftops, towers and masts for rigging works.
  • Arrange and integrate network technology with computer software, hardware, desktops, peripherals, databases and operating systems.
  • Install and commission microwave systems, including antennas, feeders, hyperflex cables, RRU's and ancillary equipment.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in the telecommunications field.
  • Sound technical knowledge of relevant aspects of various networks and work practices required by clients.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines while maintaining a positive attitude and providing excellent customer service.
  • Able to work independently and complete assignments within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines and standard accepted practice.
