Senior Telecoms Engineer Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Telecoms Engineer to lead our telecommunications projects in Brisbane, Australia. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing communications systems that incorporate radio sites, IP nodes, solutions for voice and data communications, fibre optic and copper-based transmission systems, power supply systems, and related ancillary systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop high-level and detailed design documentation for various projects including technical proposals and engineering reports
  • Hands-on work including equipment configuration and integration on multiple routing and switching equipment such as Cisco routers and switches
  • Participate in factory and site testing and commissioning activities ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders including project managers, engineers, and technicians to deliver project objectives
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve network issues ensuring minimal disruption to service
Requirements:
  • CCNP/JNCIS/JNCIP qualified Network Engineer with minimum 10+ years' experience in telecommunications engineering
  • Engineering degree enabling full membership to Engineers Australia or equivalent professional body
  • Extensive experience in Cisco routing and switching technologies including OSPF, BGP4, and MPLS protocols
  • Strong understanding of telecommunications systems including fibre optic and copper-based transmission systems
  • Strong project experience with the ability to manage priorities and multitask ensuring timely completion of projects
  • Demonstrated experience in engineering report writing and presentation
  • Experience working on Rail sector projects
