Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Community Engagement Specialist

The Senior Advisor, Indigenous Access and Engagement role plays a vital part in this commitment by leading the access and engagement of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community admissions into RMIT.
As an experienced professional, you will have a deep understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and an ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to support the educational aspirations of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students.
The successful candidate will have excellent administrative skills, including accurate and efficient record-keeping and use of ICT packages. They will also have experience in project management, with the ability to work autonomously, manage competing priorities and deadlines, and possess a positive and proactive approach to problem-solving.
In this role, you will be responsible for leading the entry and admissions processes within RMIT to support the access of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to the university. You will work closely with the Academic Registrars Group and partner with internal and external stakeholders to achieve this goal.
The estimated annual salary for this position is $106,000, plus 17% superannuation, making it a highly competitive offer. To be successful in this role, you will need to have:
- A degree and/or postgraduate degree in a relevant field of education or extensive relevant experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities in an educational or similar environment.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to work collaboratively and build rapport with staff, students, and the community.
