Salary:$75,000 - $85,000 per annum, depending on experience

Job Description:

The primary focus of our Children's Contact Service is the safety and well-being of children and young people. As a Family Support Coordinator, you will serve as a facilitator and observer during scheduled visitation, greeting clients, supporting their participation, and documenting observations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate supervised visits and changeovers with a trauma-informed and child-focused approach
  • Undertake intake assessments and planning to ensure client suitability
  • Maintain accurate case notes and client records
  • Liaise with parents, family members, legal representatives, court staff, and other caseworkers
  • Provide information and support to parents accessing Better Place services

Required Skills and Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor degree in Social Work, Family Therapy, Psychology, or a similar Human Services field
  • Demonstrated experience in child development, family violence, strength-based assessments, and trauma-informed practice
  • Experience working with children and families in conflict, particularly in supervised contact visits
  • Strong understanding of family law and its impact on families
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
