Job Overview

The role of a Senior Portfolio Manager is critical in maximizing Remarketing and Loss Recovery performance across Australia and New Zealand.

This leadership position requires a minimum of 5 years' experience leading a multi-function team with 5 or more direct reports.

Main Responsibilities
  • Drive partners to achieve best sale prices on repossessed assets, monitor operating lease inspections, invoicing, and returns.
  • Manage and communicate the direction and performance of Remarketing & Recoveries teams to key stakeholders.
  • Oversee relationships with retailers, brand partners, and manage return processes including inspections, payments, hand-back eligibility, and support internal reporting requirements.
  • Digitize and automate systems, processes, and customer communications where possible.
  • Deliver efficiency gains and productivity improvements to save resources or increase return on FTE.
  • Develop focus areas for sales performance, stock levels, valuation accuracy, cure rates, net cost of risk, write-offs, shortfall contracts, sale of bad debt, and managing external vendors.
  • Establish an effective operating rhythm balancing team and individual interactions to create a highly engaged environment and provide best-in-class training and development.
  • Maximize profitability through effective management of the Australia & New Zealand Recoveries portfolio.

This senior leadership role demands strong knowledge of the automotive sector, including remarketing and auction house partners, finance, insurance, banking, and industry regulations.

Key Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years' leadership experience leading a multi-function team with 5 or more direct reports.
  • Strong interest and knowledge of the automotive sector, including managing remarketing and auction house partners.
  • Industry knowledge focusing within finance, insurance, banking.
  • Understanding of National Consumer Credit Protection, Credit Act, Hire Purchase Act, Privacy Act, and Debt Collection Guidelines.
  • Proven success driving employee engagement and delivering customer experience.
  • Experience as Change Manager driving efficiencies, digitization, and process improvements.
  • Coaching, mentoring, and employee development skills are essential.
