About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Design Expert to join our team in Orange, Wagga Wagga or Port Macquarie. As a pivotal player in the energy industry's future, we cover 95% of NSW and parts of southern QLD.

The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing processes in analysis, design, planning, execution, and technical evaluations across various technical functions relating to design completion. This includes developing new criteria and applications of knowledge and procedures for Design Services.

  • Implement and manage the delivery of design work packets including design, drafting, and review of designs to achieve maximum commercial and technical performance.
  • Conduct investigations and preliminary designs to be included in project scoping documentation.
  • Coordinate engineering surveys as required to obtain relevant data to complete detailed designs.
  • Prepare design cost estimates to assist with the implementation and monitoring of strategic expenditure programs.
  • Provide mentoring, training, and development to other team members as required.
  • Contract manage external design consultants to deliver fit-for-purpose cost-effective designs.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this position, you will possess:

  • A willingness to learn new skills, share your knowledge, and mentor team members.
  • Extensive experience in a similar role in the Energy/Electrical and/or Utilities Industry.
  • Complete knowledge and application of current overhead and underground design philosophies, procedures, Australian standards, and statutory requirements including Safety in Design.
  • Demonstrated experience in utilising analytical skills and technical knowledge to provide appropriate solutions to technical/engineering issues.

We offer competitive remuneration commensurate with skills and experience. Salary from $128,228.19 (inclusive of 16% Super + allowance on a 9-day fortnight). Additional benefits include:
