Workplace Health and Safety Strategist

The Wellbeing and Injury Management Team Lead plays a crucial role in the delivery of effective injury prevention, claims management, and injury management processes to support business objectives.
Responsibilities include leading a team of wellbeing and injury management advisors and coordinators, developing and implementing injury and claims management policies, procedures, and strategies, providing training and coaching to leaders on health and wellbeing, and ensuring the injury management system is maintained with accurate and relevant information.
- Lead a high-performing team of wellbeing and injury management advisors and coordinators, promoting development and customer focus.
- Develop and implement effective injury and claims management policies, procedures, and strategies that minimize operational impact and reduce costs.
- Collaborate with the Injury Management & Wellbeing Manager to develop the annual Safety Strategy with key health and wellbeing objectives, targets, and timeframes for implementation.
- Provide practical training and coaching to leaders on health and wellbeing, promoting knowledge and awareness among teams and the broader business.
- Assist in developing and implementing health and wellbeing initiatives or strategies to ensure best practices are in place.
- Maintain the injury management system with accurate and relevant information, ensuring effective use by wellbeing, safety, and HR teams.
- Contribute to safety reporting and presentations, including board reports, quarterly strategy tracking, and retail leadership meetings.
- Facilitate timely and sustainable return-to-work programs for injured team members, minimizing lost time, claim durations, and claim costs.
