Job Title:

Lockout-Tagout (Loto) Coordinator (M|F|D)

About the Role

The Lockout-Tagout (LOTO) Coordinator plays a vital part in ensuring workplace safety and equipment protection by overseeing the LOTO program. This program guarantees that all machinery and equipment are isolated from hazardous energy sources, locked and tagged out before any work is done where unexpected energizing, start-up, or release of stored energy could result in injury.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Create and implement effective LOTO procedures for equipment, including developing switching orders when necessary.
  • Develop and maintain an accurate LOTO mimic board.
  • Coordinate site LOTO-related activities in affected work areas with all stakeholders.
  • Conduct regular training sessions on LOTO procedures for relevant personnel.
  • Perform daily LOTO inspections; explain any changes to the system and address questions.
  • Maintain precise records of all site LOTO-related activities and training sessions.
  • Regularly conduct audits and inspections to ensure compliance with established LOTO procedures.
  • Participate in investigations of incidents related to LOTO failures and suggest corrective actions.
  • Promptly report any safety concerns to the General Site Manager or designated delegate.
Requirements:
  • A university degree in Engineering or equivalent.
  • The ability to drive project success by focusing on HSE, quality, schedule, and budget.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing lockout/tagout procedures.
  • Relevant experience in construction and/or electrical and mechanical fields is required.
  • Strong technical and operational knowledge of safety regulations and standards.
  • Excellent communication and training skills, with the ability to influence others to prioritize safety.
  • A collaborative team player with a customer- and people-oriented approach, accountable, and solution-driven.
  • A proactive mindset in anticipating challenges and delivering strategic problem-solving solutions.
  • Fully computer literate with proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • The ability to communicate both verbally and in writing in English in an international team environment.
Work Environment:
  • A typical roster of 14 days in, 7 days out.
