Senior Correctional Officers play a vital role in ensuring the safety and well-being of staff and inmates. They oversee daily activities, contribute to dynamic and static security, and ensure effective oversight of inmate/offender activities.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain confidentiality at all times.
  • Utilize proven custodial experience and knowledge to efficiently meet demands of the role.
  • Represent department in an honest, ethical, and professional manner, leading by example.
  • Work in a resilient team with positive attitude and confidence.
Essential Requirements
  • Current Certificate III in Correctional Practice or equivalent relevant custodial experience.
  • Ability to drive official vehicles and possess a valid Driver's License.
  • Preparedness to undertake shift work on a rotating roster as required.
  • Maintain proficiency in authorized instruments of restraint.
Key Knowledge And Experience
  • Knowledge of emergency procedures.
  • Extensive understanding of reception and discharge procedures, warrants, and bails.
