At American Express, we are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated individual to join our Consumer & Small Business Credit team as a Collections and Recovery Specialist.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work with a diverse range of customers, providing exceptional service while ensuring the accurate management of accounts. The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing customer financial situations, offering hardship solutions, and monitoring assigned accounts to minimize losses.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing excellent customer service by addressing inquiries and concerns related to their accounts.
  • Assessing and understanding customers' financial situations to offer appropriate hardship solutions.
  • Monitoring and managing assigned accounts to ensure accurate records and timely follow-ups.
  • Ensuring all collection activities are documented accurately and thoroughly in the company's systems.
  • Participating in team meetings and training sessions to stay informed about company policies, procedures, and best practices.

Requirements:

  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Empathetic and patient approach when dealing with customers in financial distress.
  • Ability to handle difficult conversations and remain calm under pressure.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new software and systems.

Compensation and Benefits

The estimated annual salary for this role is around $70,000-$90,000, depending on experience.
