At Zip Co, we're looking for a skilled Collections and Debt Recovery Specialist to join our team in Sydney. As a key member of our collections team, you'll be responsible for building strong relationships with customers in financial distress and negotiating repayment solutions that work for everyone.

Key Responsibilities
  • Securing payment from customers while maintaining strong relationships
  • Providing support to customers experiencing financial difficulties and agreeing on reasonable repayment options
  • Performing administrative duties to ensure collections efficiency
  • Interacting with customers daily via phone and email
  • Managing multiple clients and responding to queries in a timely and professional manner
  • Handling inbound customer queries related to payments
  • Building trust and negotiating repayment solutions with customers, monitoring repayments, and liaising with the DCA department
  • Creating and maintaining reports on outstanding debt, ensuring accuracy, and updating progress
  • Supporting the team with Vulnerable Customer cases to ensure fair treatment and adherence to internal policies
  • Collaborating with the Team Leader to update systems and policies, monitor results, and input into strategic development
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

  • 2+ years' experience in a collections role or transferable skills from a customer-facing position
  • Understanding of debt collection processes and regulatory requirements
  • Sound knowledge of collection techniques and familiarity with relevant regulations
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills
  • Sound problem-solving capabilities
  • Strong organisation and time management skills

We offer a competitive salary package, including a base salary of AU$65,000 - AU$75,000 per year, plus benefits such as 25 days paid leave, 16 weeks paid parental leave, and mental health and wellness initiatives.
