About the Role

At OPS Garrison Lending Operations Pty Ltd, we're seeking a highly skilled Collections Specialist to join our team in Sydney or Melbourne. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a pivotal role in providing collections support to deliver greater cash flow, reduce bad debts, and align with our company goals.

As a Collections Specialist, you will be responsible for maintaining the quality of actions on assigned accounts, in line with policies and procedures, industry codes of conduct, legislation, and other relevant laws. You will work closely with our team to maximise collections and recovery strategies, identify and manage sensitive and challenging issues, negotiate complex disputes, and contribute to a positive team culture.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maximise collections and recovery strategies within assigned portfolios.
  • Identify and manage sensitive and challenging issues on customer accounts.
  • Negotiate complex disputes with customers to ensure best outcomes.
  • Contribute to team cohesiveness and a positive culture.

What We're Looking For:

  • Experience in a fast-paced collections and recoveries environment.
  • Demonstrated background in successful debt collection, mercantile, and legal recoveries.
  • Team player with empathy, negotiation skills, and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to prioritise and manage multiple accounts and tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
