JOB OVERVIEW:
The Channel Sales Engineer serves as a vital resource within the sales channel ecosystem, delivering technical sales expertise to the Managed Service Provider (MSP) community. This role is pivotal in managing and coordinating the technical engagement and enablement efforts across our SaaS MSP partners. A strong focus on Commvault's SaaS offerings is essential, as is an understanding of how partner decisions influence customer outcomes while simultaneously driving revenue for Commvault.
The Sales Engineer is expected to be viewed as a trusted advisor by stakeholders at all levels within the Managed Service Partner ecosystem. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to technically guide, mentor, and educate partners, significantly contributing to Commvault's overall success.
The successful candidate will also facilitate and support intricate sales opportunities by converting business needs into technical solution requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Commvault Sales and Managed Service Partner Channel teams in the region to implement strategies focused on key SaaS MSP partners.
- Cultivate and sustain relationships, acting as a trusted resource for segments of our partner community.
- Possess in-depth technical knowledge of Commvault's SaaS solutions and services.
- Provide pre-sales support, including demonstrations, technical presentations, and addressing technical inquiries.
- Stay informed about industry developments and technological trends.
- Effectively build strong relationships with partners and internal sales teams to create impactful technical sales strategies.
- Deliver training and education to ensure the success of demonstrations, proof of value initiatives, scoping, and Managed Service Partner sales campaigns.
- Proactively engage with technical decision-makers within partner organizations and develop actionable Technical Account Plans for all focus targets and current partners using Commvault's Target Account Selling methodology.
- Actively participate in trade shows, conferences, and partner sessions to generate leads and promote Commvault's solutions and services.
- Continuously enhance and maintain technical expertise through training, certifications, and industry events.
Position Requirements:
- Willingness to travel frequently within the region.
- Experience in Security, Cloud/SaaS, and/or Data Management.
- Specialized knowledge and proven proficiency with at least one major open systems operating system, hypervisor, and cloud technologies.
- Familiarity with major workloads such as M, AD, D, SQL, SAP, Oracle, Exchange, SharePoint, etc.
- Understanding of SaaS infrastructure technologies, including cloud, storage, servers, networking, and hyper-convergence.
- Requires a technical selling approach, gathering insights to build product expertise with business, industry, and competitive knowledge.
- Solid experience in creating business cases and TCO modeling is a significant advantage for this role.
- Excellent written, presentation, and communication skills, with the ability to foster and maintain stakeholder and business relationships.
