Job Opportunity:

Commercial Insurance Underwriter Support

We are seeking a skilled professional to join our team as an Underwriting Assistant. This role will involve supporting our commercial insurance lines within specialty, collaborating with offshore teams to ensure timely requests for quotes, name clearance, and accurate binding of quotes.

  • Cultivate effective working relationships with underwriters to ensure efficient and smooth account handovers.
  • Develop and implement procedures to enhance system efficiency and accuracy.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of files handled by the role holder in the UW file.
  • Ensure precise premium, commission, and tax bookings in processing systems.
  • Liaise with local staff to resolve queries and monitor implementation progress.
  • Process mid-term endorsements, issuance of certificates of insurance, and focus on premium collection monitoring.
  • Address client/broker requests promptly and refer to underwriters as needed.
  • Stay up-to-date with new guidelines and serve as a reference point for others.

This position reports to the Team Lead in Australia and requires permanent Australian working rights.

  • Excellent communication skills, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and efficiently juggle numerous concurrent responsibilities.
  • Develop and maintain productive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with virtual teams.
  • Intermediate Excel skills (pivot tables, reconciliation of accounts).
  • Attention to detail and great time management skills.
  • Continuous improvement focused and results-oriented.
