About the opportunity

Dawes seeks a Motor Underwriter to become an essential member of a high-performing team. Reporting to the Team Leader, you will assist leading the profitable growth of a Prestige Motor Insurance agency via our Broker partners.

Key Responsibilities:

• Underwrite motor policies and determine effective pricing/policy negotiation
• Manage Renewals, Endorsements, and New Business opportunities to attain financial targets
• Maintain and exceed service level standards
• Follow best practices and uphold ethical and regulatory standards across the agency. Adhere to underwriting guidelines and target market determination.
• Liaise with brokers and business partners at company functions and Industry events.
• Have involvement in the Underwriter audit process

Skills and Qualifications:

• Minimum 2 years' experience within Insurance in Underwriting/Broking/Motor Claims
• Industry qualifications (minimum tier 2) or comparable industry experience
• Strong customer service focus with experience in intermediated distribution channels desirable
• Strong communication, relationship management and interpersonal skills
• A willingness to learn and to use your own initiative.
• An ability to foster strong Broker/Market relationships
• Able to make intelligent and innovative business decisions with an appreciation and understanding of legal and regulatory guidelines
• A data-driven mindset to uncover patterns, ask insightful questions, and transform information into meaningful actions to drive success
