Senior Financial Accountant Role Summary

This role involves the preparation and review of financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance with international accounting standards.

The successful candidate will possess extensive knowledge of technical accounting, regulatory compliance, and financial statement preparation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the preparation and review of financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with IFRS, GAAP, and other relevant accounting standards.
  • Provide technical accounting expertise on complex transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, financial instruments, and revenue recognition.
  • Work closely with auditors and regulators to ensure all financial reporting requirements are met.
  • Develop and maintain strong internal controls over financial reporting processes.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial disclosures and ensure compliance with all regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Support the implementation of new accounting standards and ensure the bank's policies and procedures align with best practices.
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior accountants, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development.
Requirements
  • CPA, CA, or equivalent professional accounting qualification.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in financial accounting, with a strong focus on technical accounting within the banking or financial services sector.
  • Extensive knowledge of IFRS, GAAP, and other relevant accounting standards.
  • Proven experience in managing complex financial reporting processes and delivering high-quality results under tight deadlines.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to communicate complex accounting concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Strong leadership and mentoring skills, with a commitment to developing the capabilities of junior team members.
