About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to join Carmody Accounting & Business Advisory as a Senior Accountant Client Advisor. In this full-time role based in Penrith, NSW, you will be providing strategic financial and business advisory services to support the growth and success of our valued clients.

What you'll be doing

  • Providing comprehensive accounting and tax services to a portfolio of small-to-medium sized business clients
  • Preparing & Reviewing annual financial statements, tax returns, and business activity statements
  • Advising clients on taxation planning, cashflow management, and other strategic financial matters
  • Identifying opportunities to improve client's financial performance and achieve their business goals
  • Building strong, long-lasting relationships with clients through exceptional service and proactive advice
  • Client communication through email, phone, video or in person.
  • Mentoring and training more junior members of the accounting team
  • Staying up-to-date with changes in tax legislation and accounting standards

What we're looking for

  • 5+ years of experience in an Australian public practice accounting role.
  • Strong technical accounting and taxation knowledge, with a focus on small-to-medium business clients
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively liaise with clients and collaborate with the wider team
  • Proactive problem-solving abilities and a strategic mindset to identify opportunities for clients
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications, such as a Bachelor of Commerce or Accounting, and membership with a professional accounting body (CA or CPA)
  • Demonstrated experience in providing high-quality financial and business advisory services
