Job Title: Commercial Manager

This role involves working as a key member of the commercial team to ensure effective management and execution of contracts. The successful candidate will have strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to develop and implement commercial strategies that drive business growth.

Responsibilities:
  • To provide support to senior executives in developing and implementing commercial strategies.
  • Identifying, assessing and managing risks across the organization.
  • Negotiating and drafting operational and downstream subcontracts for complex engineering and infrastructure projects.
  • Attending and driving tender, contract execution and dispute resolution discussions and negotiations.
  • Reviewing all terms and conditions not using standard templates.
  • Reporting on legal risks to senior executives.
  • Providing commercial training to staff members.
  • Preparing draft legal and commercial correspondence.
  • Managing external legal providers for value and targeted advice.
  • Ensuring compliance with organizational procedures.
  • Maintaining records of agreements and contracts.
  • Implementing project reporting including budget, earned value and forecast cost to complete.
  • Ensuring good standing and fulfilling obligations under law.
Requirements:
  • Qualifications in Commerce, Law and/or Construction Management, or Quantity Surveying.
  • Substantial experience and expertise in engineering, infrastructure and construction contracts.
  • Strong understanding of commercial and legal requirements.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of general and special conditions of contracts.
  • Ability to develop contracts reducing risk to the organization.
  • Previous experience in manufacturing, engineering and construction environment.
  • Knowledge of contract law, insurances and relevant legislation.
