The targeted Child Wellbeing Program aims to quickly identify vulnerable children and their families, engaging them in timely and appropriate support services. This results in fewer children and families reaching the level of concern that requires a statutory child protection response.
Child Wellbeing staff enhance Education sites' ability to engage with families in an accepting and positive setting. The role is accountable for strengthening communication and understanding between government and non-government service sectors.
This involves promoting partnerships with support services, creating opportunities for collaboration, identifying risk, assessing needs, planning and delivering focused intervention to safeguard children and young people within their families and communities.
Key aspects of this role include supporting and engaging directly with vulnerable children, young people and families at risk, and fostering effective relationships with various stakeholders.
